Opponent: Bogdan Dlugogorski from Murdoch University. Bogdan Dlugogorski is currently the dean of School of Engineering and technology in Murdoch University. He has been working in the field of dioxins for more than 10 years and has solid knowledge and experience on the relevant research field.

Brief description of the project:

The project involves studies of dioxins and dioxin-like compounds in thermochemical conversion of biomass, with focus on the occurrence, transformation and formation characteristics. Two conversion technologies underlying in this thesis are microwave-assisted pyrolysis (collaborated with York University, UK) and torrefaction (performed at BTC, SLU). Both were conducted at lab scale.
