4th International Conference on Renewable Energy Gas Technology, REGATEC 2017
REGATEC 2017 has a technical and industrial focus and is directed towards microbial and thermochemical conversion of biomass and waste to biomethane, Power-to-gas, biomass gasification for CHP production and cryogenic upgrading/liquefaction. REGATEC includes plenary and parallel sessions, a poster session, an exhibition and excellent opportunities to network and find new collaboration and business partners. The latest advances will be presented by leading experts, as well as industrial scale plants.
Date and place: 22-23 May 2017, Pacengo, Verona, Italy
Joint Seminar f3 - B4E - SLU: Feedstock for Sustainable Biofuel Production
- Perspectives on tailor-made feedstock, influence of choice of method on estimates of climate impact and the role of EU policy and regulation
The aim of the seminar is to give different perspectives on the feedstock side of the value chain of biofuel production. We choose to focus on the potential of tailor-made feedstock, effects of the choice of method on evaluating sustainability issues, as well as give an update of the role of EU policies and regulation in the development of sustainable biofuel production. The target audience is industrial, public and academic actors with an interest in the use of forest biomass, biorefinery and biofuel production and use. In addition, this will be an excellent opportunity to network with researchers, industry representatives and actors from the public sector representing the value chain of renewable transportation fuels.
Time: 6 February 2017, 10:15 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
The programme contains plenary presentations and study visits to the Biomass Technology Centre (BTC) and the demonstration plant for torrefaction in Holmsund, IDU.
Place: P.O. Bäckströms sal/aulan, SLU, Umeå, Sweden
All welcome, but registration is required.

Advanced Biofuels 2017
Welcome to the International Advanced Biofuels Conference – For Aviation, Maritime and Land Transport
With the global climate change agreement in force, agreed in Paris, France, the focus is now on direct measures. The sectors for aviation, maritime and land transport face change. The biggest challenge is the transition to a sustainable society. Svebio believes in using biofuels to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, in "recarbonising" with green carbon.
Main organiser of the Advanced Biofuels' conference 17-19 May 2017, at Gothenburg, Sweden, is the Swedish Bioenergy Association. Among its partners are the Bioenergy branch of the International Energy Agency and the Swedish Centre for Renewable Transportation Fuels. Study visits are scheduled for 17 May, before the start of sessions.
Leading scientists, researchers, engineers and politicians, as well as representatives from industry, organisations, governments and authorities are expected to attend the conference.

ERIFORE Workshop: European Open-access Infrastructure for the Bioeconomy
We warmly welcome you to the 2nd open ERIFORE Workshop on 27 March 2017 in Stockholm, Sweden.
ERIFORE is a Horizon 2020 funded project with the aim to establish a cooperation network between European open access research infrastructures in the field of forest based bioeconomy. The project uses a participatory approach to involve a variety of actors in a dialogue on the research infrastructure capabilities and future development needs in order to establish a strong collaboration network in Europe.
The aim of the workshop is to present an overview of European forest based research infrastructure capabilities and emerging concepts to response plans for future infrastructure needs. Initial business and governance models for alternative research infrastructure cooperation arrangements will be discussed. In addition, the team of ERIFORE will present three selected case studies assessing the capability of European forest-based bioeconomy research infrastructure in new bio-based product development. Gathering the main research institutions and key industrial players active in this field opens up a unique opportunity for networking, discussion of future strategies and exploitation of knowledge.
The workshop will be held at Tidningshuset in Stockholm.
Please register by 15.3.2017. The event is free of charge, however there are limited number of seats available for workshop.
Mika Härkönen, ERIFORE Coordinator, VTT (Finland)
